Mannheim Steamroller Set To Play National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony For a Record Third Time
The Grammy-winning collective will feature alongside Boys II Bow Ties and the U.S. Navy Band at the White House
OMAHA, Nebraska, November 1, 2017 – Mannheim Steamroller is set to perform at President’s Park at the White House as part of the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 30. This will mark the third time Mannheim Steamroller has performed at the National Tree Lighting Ceremony (they previously played at ceremonies during the Clinton and Bush administrations). Boys II Bow Ties and the U.S. Navy Band will accompany the Omaha collective in kicking off the holiday season.
“Mannheim Steamroller has really enjoyed the experience of performing at the National Tree Lighting Ceremony in the past,” said Chip Davis, the founding member, and brainchild of the group. “It signifies the start of the holidays and just represents a really festive and joyful time for myself and everyone in Mannheim.”
Free tickets for the event were awarded through an online lottery, which opened at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday, October 12 and closed at 10 a.m. EDT on Monday, October 16. Lottery winners will be notified on October 30. If you did not get your chance to submit your name to the lottery for a chance to win, you will still be able to see the event on the Hallmark Channel at on Monday, December 4. The National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony also marks a major stop on Mannheim Steamroller’s 2017 holiday tour. The tour, now entering its 33rd year, spans over 80 shows at cities nationwide.
