Make sure you tune into the Hallmark Channel tonight, December 4, to watch Chip and Mannheim Steamroller perform for an unprecedented third time at the White House National Tree Lighting Ceremony!
Hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Dean Cain, the program included The Beach Boys, the Three Tenors, Wynona and other major entertainers at the November 30 ceremony held on the Elllipse of the President’s Park. With the White House in the background, the distinctive sounds of Mannheim’s Christmas classics filled the air on a beautiful night in our nation’s capital.
One of our country’s most honored holiday traditions, the National Christmas Tree Lighting has been held since 1923 and is managed by the National Park Foundation. Over 75,000 individual LED lights, icicle strings, holographic stars and net lighting adorned this years tree but the total cost to light the tree over the holiday season from dusk to midnight is under $200 with today’s technological advances!
