A young Red Tail Hawk was released by Chip back into the wild following the raptor’s rehabilitation. Chip and Denise Lewis, volunteer coordinator for the The Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery Center, made the release on Chip’s farm outside of Omaha. The Raptor Recovery Center is the only organization in Nebraska that focuses on the conservation of raptor birds through education, research and the rehabilitation of injured or orphaned raptors, including hawks, falcons, owls and even eagles. “This is a second chance for this young hawk,” said Chip as the raptor soared up and away.
