Last week, our RED touring company was in Wabash Indiana on Thanksgiving Day. They had traveled from their concert in Norfolk, Va to Wabash for a concert on Nov. 27 – the day after Thanksgiving. Before they arrived, they decided to spend their Thanksgiving serving those less fortunate. They visited the Vernon Manor Children’s Home and rather than have a big Thanksgiving dinner, they did a scaled down performance for the residents; who are mostly children but have some adults that stayed after they “aged out” because they unable to obtain care elsewhere. They were able to give of themselves and their time on Thanksgiving to hang out with these kids who are there during the holidays because it’s too hard for their families to take them home.
