Certainly not Chip, who is celebrating National Pet Month with his hybrid timber wolves, Seti and Ramses, named after two Egyptian pharaohs.
A few years ago, Chip heard of a producer who brought his timber wolf to recording sessions where everyone remarked how the wolf was so unique and polite.
“I thought it would be cool to go in a different direction than a normal dog”, said Chip. “And as my daughter, Kelly, said ‘Dad just can’t do something normal’ — and she’s right!”
After searching the best breeders and sources, Chip found Seti who is now eight years old and Ramses who is six years old. They are hybrids, 80 percent wolf and 20 percent German Shepard. Their special compound includes a building shed that has been decorated with pictures of squirrels, pork chops and other art!!!
The timber wolves have become fast friends with Chip’s other “pets”, four different horses. Stay tuned for another post on the horses — and how they and the timber wolves have become the basis of a young adult book trilogy which will be released later this year.
